Social Economy

The Waterford One World Centre is representing Ireland in a 24 nation EU project SUSY (Sustainability and Solidarity Economy in Europe) that aims to promote Social Economy, and specifically to increase the connections between the Social Economy and the Development Sector, in the South East of Ireland.

We have included some background resources on Social Economy (also called the Social and Solidarity Economy, it incudes Social Enterprise, Credit Unions, Fair Trade, etc.).  Including this short video clip from SUSY explaining our important concepts:

There is a great animated clip done by our friends at Challenging the Crisis, a group of young people from Ireland, Greece, Italy, Spain and Slovenia,, which explains the nature of a Social and Solidarity Economy.
